Undoubtedly, for major brands, with their available infrastructure, they practice some level of CDR. Yet, there is not a shared goal in the industry. And all companies, big and small, can always benefit from a quick check. When deciding what data to collect and how to collect them, it is wise to also establish that internal data code of conduct simultaneously. A code is less stringent than an entire CDR plan, but it is a very good place to start.
This summer, HFTP recruited hospitality-technology leaders to participate in a task force to develop a Corporate Digital Responsibility Code of Conduct for the Lodging Industry. The group of hotel IT specialists identified a broad list of items to include, and then turned this list over to industry professionals to rank the items by importance. As a result, the following framework has been established for hospitality organizations to assist in developing their own internal code of conduct.
